I have to tell you about the most incredible find ever. I was looking up fabric samples on a website (I can not reveal my source. It is highly top secret.) and there was a person on there that sells very high end upholstry fabrics to designers and she was getting rid of all her discontinued fabrics. I felt like a kid in a candy store with no limit on what I could have. (and not having to worry about love handles........I know closest thing to heaven on earth!!)

These fabrics are divine to touch and feel. Here are several of the new "ladies" that I have created over this wonderful memorial day weekend. Let me know what you think. They will be going into a new store in Milford on Thursday it is called Beading Friendzy. I may take the blue one and the red one into Just So! and take out the pink Miro bag and the groovy green one. I have not priced these ones yet. Hopefully I will edit this later today.

Hurray!!!! I finally figured out the zipper!!!!!

The handle on this one is actually two different belts from Liz Claiborne that matched. I was really excited about that. The bag has a front pocket and leather bottom.

I have been very busy this last month.
First of all I would like to say that I live in the best neighborhood ever!!! It is so organized and there is a core group of us that get together regularly.
One of my dear neighbors was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in his lower intestine/bowel area. Everyone wanted to do something but did not know what to do. So I came up with this. The nice thing about this is the final product is a useful gift.
12 of the neighbors took a 12x12 felted square from sweaters donated by a couple of the neighbors and decorated it and prayed for the family.
The theme for this blanket was the months of the year. So each one of us took a month. I then took all of the squares and put them together with the other coordinating blue and orange rectangles. This was absolutely lovely. Everyone did a fantastic job.
We then held a "recieving blanket party" for Ken and Erin. We all got together to let them know how much we appreciate them and care for them.
If you think about them please pray for them their names are Ken and Erin. He is currently responding to treatment. Their children are 5 and 3.

Sorry its been so long for a new post. I have had 2 shows in the last month. That keeps me pretty busy.
I went to the first business fair at my son's school. It was a great success for me. I sold 4 bags (only 60 people walked through this fair). Also one of the ladies wants to host a party.
This picture here is all of items that I had. I had too many items for this table. Everytime I go to one of these I learn a lot. I ended up purchasing some shelves for display. And I will ot be using baskets and tubs anymore....yikes. That looks pretty bad in this picture.

These are the bags that sold.

Stephanie purchased the me of the mommy and me.

Michelle got the large oatmeal bag with flower and vintage button. She was the big winner of the night. She won my gift certificate that they were raffling off. Congratulations Michelle!
My next certificate give away will be at the auction on April 12. Actually it will be a purse but the person that wins can exchange it for a purse of similiar value or they can pay the difference.

Kayla got my first spring bag of the season. I love these new spring bags.

I carry one myself.

Debbie got the mommy of the mommy and me. And no she is definately not Stephanie's mom. I decided to break them up because there were two women there that wanted one of each.

Thanks for all of your encouragement and for purchasing one of my bags ladies. I cant wait for your party Stephanie.

Here is my new summer bag. I tried really hard to put a zipper in it. Needless to say....did not work. I will continue trying until I get it. The fabric for this bag is a cotton flower pattern on the top and a citron green linen bottom. It has a stabilizer on the inside to make it stiffer.

The inside has a divided pocket and a magnetic closure. (I promise I will get the whole zipper thing eventually.)

I love the belt on this one. It is embroidered with flowers.

$85.00
The bottom is formerly a leather coat. The leather is very rich. I love the color. Finding belts to go with it is kind of a challenge.
Sold!!!Thanks Mary

I am really excited because I just had my first sale on Etsy. The brown stripes bag sold. That made my day. Thanks Lisa!! 55.00

This past weekend I went to visit my sister in Columbus Ohio. We did quite a bit of thrifting/antiquing/junkin. Whatever you want to call it. I got some of the most fabulous vintage fabrics. I was looking for fabrics to make my spring/summer bags. I went to this store called Mad4Mod Vintage. If you need anything for a disco party.......thats your store. I really love this green fabric with the blue and yellow and red flowers. They were originally curtain panels. I got a really sweet deal on it because it was ripped. I also got this pink fabric. It is by a designer named MirĂ³ from the 60's and 70's. They only produced this fabric for about 6 months in 1970 so it is a very rare fabric.

I found this fabric of the children around the world at a thrift store. I am thinking maybe a diaper bag or two out of this one. It looks like a 50's fabric. It has cute bunnies and bears and tigers on it. I have lots to show you so I will blog more later.

Here are some more pictues of Friday's party. I wish I was more of a photographer, I would have taken a picture of all of the items that I had....in one picture. It was quite a spread.

My next show will be on March 11 at the Business Fair at Lakes Elementary school in Hartland. It is located off of old 23 on Taylor Rd. Hope to see you there. I am working on some springy/summery bags.

Tina with her brown bag.

Hilary with her "Mommy" of her Mommy and Me bags.

Megan purchased this little beauty for her mother-in-law.
Lori took home the brown/green bag with a wonderful belt. Thanks Lori for all of your encouragment.

Hillary purchased the orangy-pink Mommy and Me bags. Thanks Hillary for your continued support.

Sarah took home the covetted "weekender" bag. This bag got many favorites on Etsy and at the party.

Hosting has its rewards. This cute number was Megan's reward for having a party in her home. Thanks so much Megan for getting your friends together and sharing my homemade goodies with them. It was a lovely party.

Tina took home the Polka Dots bag. This bag is great for carrying all of your essentials including but not limited to your computer, files, diapers, sippy cups......you know just the necessities.

Please post comments if you would like. Especially those of you who have my bags.
