Green Mrs. Darcy $59.00 available
This is what I have been working on this past weekend. All that green fabric is used up. I really like it. Now I need to find a better way to take pictures.
I went to The Art in the Park in Plymouth, MI. Wow. There were tons of people there. I went to help out a friend at her booth. Part of the Heart. The owner Karryn (pronounce car-in) Mahle has wonderful jewelry. She brings alot of people to the show.
It was interesting to see the show from a vendors perspective. It is alot of work. I wanted to take pictures of other purse vendors but there were only 2. One had leather bags that were incredible and the booth was impressive. Too much for what I want to do and the other one was too little of what I wanted to do. So I did not take pictures........I should have though so I could show you. If I can get my inventory up, I may go next year and try to get in.

Howdy!! I am on a purse making frenzy. Better get me while I'm hot. Here is a bag that I made tonight. I had a customer stop over and pick out her own fabric. Me likey!!! I hope she does.
Dont you love it when the sewing mojo hits you? I do!!
These are my new beauties.

This one on the left is now my new most favorite bag I have ever made. It is sooooooo stinkin' cute.

This is me carrying my new fav. I think maybe I need a cute brown dress and heels to go with it now.
I need to come up with a name for her.......any ideas? Please submit ideas in the comments section. I think mmm........Cindy is a good name. HA HA I actually think it may be the Mrs. Darcy bag. (...you may only call me Mrs. Darcy when you are incandescently happy!!) I think its workin'. What do you think?
This is defined........clutchy goodness!!! It is perfect for a night out on the town. Lipstick, ID, moola and maybe a cell phone. I will update with a look inside the madness tomorrow....or later today.

OK> Remember....I love comments. Please let me know what you are thinkin' out there.

The New Girls on the Block

Clutch $49.00 Sale Pending!!!

Zippered Geometric Bag Leather Bottom $59.00
No longer pending. (see newer post)

Tan/Black Swirl with Bow Leather Bottom $59.00

Red/Black/White Vintage Flower $49.00 Sold!! Thanks Anna!
(Does not have leather bottom)

These are the new girls on the block. Top is a clutch. It is actually Amy Butler's pattern.....tweeked a bit to fit the fabric. It has a leather flap with a magnetic snap for a closure. Stacey from Beading Friendzy stopped by my house with a bag full of sample fabrics from JC Penney. The first 3 bags are products of her generosity. Thanks Stacey!!!! Second bag is a zippered top with two handles. I think I will make several of this size. I really like it. The tan one with the bow is really nice fabric. It is kind of silky. This bag will go with just about anything. The White, Black and Red one is vintage fabric. You can wear this over your neck. I kind of like it but I may make one with a shorter handle, maybe just big enought to get your arm through with some room to spare. The only thing is, I forgot the magnetic closure on that one. May have to fix that soon.

Let me know what you think. Please.....I know you are out there reading this, leave me a comment. I love them.

This past weekend we went to Pittsburgh, Pa to let my dad show the kids where he grew up.

This is everyone buying tickets to get on to the trams that will take you all over Pittsburgh.

This my boys waiting for the tram to come. They love being silly.

The boys sitting next to Pappy.

Wee one was really tired that day. I dont think any of us slept really well at the hotel that night.

This is Nina, Owen, Pappy, and Spencer riding the incline.

Me, Spencer, Owen, and my sister Debbie at the top look out from riding the incline. We had the most perfect day in Pittsburgh. (Notice my cute bag that I am carrying. I Love this bag. I get so many wonderful comments on it.)

We had so much fun. Thanks Dad and Mom for showing us the town.

Now, I really need to get into the craft room and make some bags. I am such a slacker.

So my oldest boy has just gone through a right of passage. He lost his first tooth. This is a big deal here in our household. He was the last kid in his class to loose a tooth. And thank God it happened the second to last day of school. It is his bottom left tooth. I love you my now big second grader. Why does that seem so big. I guess I say that every year.

Wee one graduated from preschool. I cant believe he will be in Junior Kindergarten everyday next year. He is so ready too. He cried almost everyday that he did not get to go to school this year. He wants to be just like his brother. I love you too squeezy!!

Don't you love the cupcakes they did for the class?

They sure do love each other........most of the time.

Gifty Goodness.

My good good friend Karee gave birth to her 4th baby.....mmm....a couple of months ago. (No time like the present to get the gift out.) She has 3 girls and now she has a boy (oh boy!!). So Karee and the girls get a Mommy & Me, Me, Me set. The wee bairn gets a blanket. They live in Minnesota so the winter sweater bags will most likely get the most use.

These pictures are not the best pictures. They are pretty cute I must say so myself. I hope to update soon with a picture of Karee and her brood carrying the bags. God bless you Karee. I cant wait to come see that beautiful bundle of joy.

I finally got a weekend to go visit my sister in Columbus, Ohio. It was her birthday. On my way over I had a fabulous time stopping at antique stores and thrift stores. I got so many fabulous fabrics and sweaters to make new handbags. One of the stores I scored a box of fabrics for $10.00 and the cutest baby chair ever.

I learned that they were booster seats at restaurants. This one folds down flat. Super cute. I thought I might use that with a baby doll in it to display my wooly pants at craft shows. I am looking for a baby doll bed that I can put my cashmere blankets into for display. Let me know if you ever find one. The other thing I thought of was a baby scale....vintage of course. I have seen those over the years and thought I should buy them but I never did.....now of course I have an actual use for it and do not have it.

My sister and I went garage saleing(sp?) this weekend. She has finally gone to the dark side when it comes to junkin'. She used to say to me, "I do not get why you like to go through peoples junk, I would rather have new." Now she has seen what she can get for next to nothin. We got a fabulous wicker chair with an automon for $10.00, a genuine schwinn cruiser bike.....in perfect condition, $40.00. After we bought it the lady said that she had something in her garage to go with it. I was thinking it would be a basket for the front but it was a horn.....what a scream. Hopefully I will get a picture of this bike.......thrifty goodness at its best.

Then we went down to North High street in downtown Columbus. My three favorite stores are right next to each other.

Number 1 favorite is SoBo Style. If you click on this you will go to her blog. The owner Katie Palmer is the cutest and sweetest little owner of a store. She finds tremendous furniture and makes it new again and she uses Amy Butler fabrics. She also has great little finds in there. I saw a package of "pee pee tee pee's". If you have boys you should be able to figure out what these are used for (and for those that dont, it for when you are changing a boy you will not need to change your clothes afterwards.....smile). I cracked up. Everyone I know is having little girls.

Number 2 is Mad for Mod. That is where I got the Miro fabric and the funky green with flowers and blue bird fabric from.

Number 3 is the Boomerang Room. This place is so cool and very reasonably priced. I love retro.

Thanks to my dear husband who watched the kids for the weekend. Over all I feel like a new woman with three days of no kids (of my own) and 2 days of junkin'. What more could a girl ask for? Well I will tell you. Sort of. I have a possiblity of two more stores carrying my bags. One in Ohio, and one if Florida.

Yesterday, my bags went into another store, Beading Friendzy. The ladies in the store, Stacey Lane and Mary Jane Bussey were really excited about the bags. Please check out the store if you get a chance out that way, they have some really neat beads and other boutique items.

I have to tell you about the most incredible find ever. I was looking up fabric samples on a website (I can not reveal my source. It is highly top secret.) and there was a person on there that sells very high end upholstry fabrics to designers and she was getting rid of all her discontinued fabrics. I felt like a kid in a candy store with no limit on what I could have. (and not having to worry about love handles........I know closest thing to heaven on earth!!)

These fabrics are divine to touch and feel. Here are several of the new "ladies" that I have created over this wonderful memorial day weekend. Let me know what you think. They will be going into a new store in Milford on Thursday it is called Beading Friendzy. I may take the blue one and the red one into Just So! and take out the pink Miro bag and the groovy green one. I have not priced these ones yet. Hopefully I will edit this later today.

Here is my new bag. I purchased this very rare fabric a couple of months ago. It is hot pink with crazy birds and people on it. It is from a designer Miro. It is from 1970. I love it.

Hurray!!!! I finally figured out the zipper!!!!!

The handle on this one is actually two different belts from Liz Claiborne that matched. I was really excited about that. The bag has a front pocket and leather bottom.

$95.00 Sold!!! Thanks Debbie!!

I have been very busy this last month.
First of all I would like to say that I live in the best neighborhood ever!!! It is so organized and there is a core group of us that get together regularly.
One of my dear neighbors was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in his lower intestine/bowel area. Everyone wanted to do something but did not know what to do. So I came up with this. The nice thing about this is the final product is a useful gift.
12 of the neighbors took a 12x12 felted square from sweaters donated by a couple of the neighbors and decorated it and prayed for the family.
The theme for this blanket was the months of the year. So each one of us took a month. I then took all of the squares and put them together with the other coordinating blue and orange rectangles. This was absolutely lovely. Everyone did a fantastic job.
We then held a "recieving blanket party" for Ken and Erin. We all got together to let them know how much we appreciate them and care for them.
If you think about them please pray for them their names are Ken and Erin. He is currently responding to treatment. Their children are 5 and 3.

Sorry its been so long for a new post. I have had 2 shows in the last month. That keeps me pretty busy.
I went to the first business fair at my son's school. It was a great success for me. I sold 4 bags (only 60 people walked through this fair). Also one of the ladies wants to host a party.
This picture here is all of items that I had. I had too many items for this table. Everytime I go to one of these I learn a lot. I ended up purchasing some shelves for display. And I will ot be using baskets and tubs anymore....yikes. That looks pretty bad in this picture.

These are the bags that sold.

Stephanie purchased the me of the mommy and me.

Michelle got the large oatmeal bag with flower and vintage button. She was the big winner of the night. She won my gift certificate that they were raffling off. Congratulations Michelle!
My next certificate give away will be at the auction on April 12. Actually it will be a purse but the person that wins can exchange it for a purse of similiar value or they can pay the difference.

Kayla got my first spring bag of the season. I love these new spring bags.

I carry one myself.

Debbie got the mommy of the mommy and me. And no she is definately not Stephanie's mom. I decided to break them up because there were two women there that wanted one of each.

Thanks for all of your encouragement and for purchasing one of my bags ladies. I cant wait for your party Stephanie.
