a bag for skylar!!

Skylar Paxton
These are the closest cousins to my kids. We have such a wonderful time when we get together!!

I cant believe I did not take any photos of these two while they were up here. This on our way out the door to the Flint airport at 4:30a.m. in the morning....notice I am nowhere in the picture...
This bag is for my niece Skylar. She and her brother came up for Christmas break. We had a wonderful time making this bag out of vintage fabrics, drinking coffee, making cookies, going to movies or watching them here, shopping, doing our hair and makeup (well...Paxton did not partake in the last two things;)...).

Happy Birthday to my dear Spencer....the big 9 today.

OK,... I know this is not the most flattering picture of me but we are focusing on my first born Spencer in this post. This was Christmas morning 2009. I forgot to buy them new jammies this year. Now I know why I buy them new jammies....for all the pictures we take on Christmas morning. I remember my photos always had me looking like a bomb had gone off in my head and my jammies were always weird.
This is Spencer's favorite candy bar.

This is a great photo of him. He has matured so much in the last few months. Hard for me to explain.

This was his favorite gift. It took him about 5 hours to put it together.

We went skiing tonight for his birthday. He is starting to get really good.
I am wanting to go on a cruise this year.....we may have to take a trip out to Colorado next year.
He got to go over a jump in the hill...thought he was big stuff. Owen freaked out that he did not get to do it. Maybe next time!!!
Happy birthday my wonderful son!! Can hardly believe you're half way to 18 (yikes!!!) I need to catalog more of my life with my boys. It is fun to look back. If I can figure out my scanner I will put some photos of when he was younger. We just got a new computer so the oldest photo I have on here is 3 months ago.

Cream with Burgundy and Cream Flower

This bag is made from a Bannana Republic Sweater and Coach belt. The sweater felted up thick and yummy, the belt is a Coach (not much more to say about that...), and the interior is a delicously superior upscale fabric. The flower on the front is a pin so you can take it off if you like and use the flower for your coat.

$135
Going to SoBo Style!!!
Vintage button.

This is a woven, satiny, wonderful to touch fabric.

Sweater Jacket

I started making sweater jackets when I found a few sweaters that felted to the perfect size of a little sweater jacket. This one happens to be for an 11 year old girl.

She started out as this.....and then I thought, this is nice but
looks too mature.
So, I went with this. I LOVE it!! I want to make myself a chocolate brown one very similiar to this. Can't wait to show it to you.

I absolutely love how this turned out. I hope to find more cashmere sweaters. Yea, I forgot to mention that this sweater is part cashmere.....yummy!!

Bags available for sale

The best and most current information to know which bags are for sale and where they are is to go to the "location and prices of bags". Then click on each location to see what is available.

Or click here.

I am still working on the best way to do this.

These are the new bags on the mannequin for size

Most of these bag need to be seen in person. There is a lot of detail that goes into each of them and the insides are fabulous. I have several different very upscale upholstery fabrics in them. Some of these fabrics $100-250 a yard. Yummy!!

More inspiration

I totally LOVE this skirt, from Boden, USA. I will be making something similiar with a thrifted skirt and left over sweater part maybe with an owl??? Or something equally as cute!!

Super Kitchy Owl!!

This owl is super kitchy!!
My son actually drew this on a sheet of paper and I loved it so much that I put it on a bag. Yes, I am getting my whole family involved with my purse business!!
My little one wants me to do one with bats on it. Think there will be any takers?

The bag is teal, the owl is pink and light teal. I absolutely love it, but it is "an owl thing" and you either get it or you dont!!
Yes, I would wear this with everything too!!

A total show stopper!! This will be available at SoBo Style!!

I have to tell you that I am super excited. I am having an organizer come to my house to organize my work area. I think I might be able to get 80 bags done in 30 days if my area was organized. Hopefully I will have "after" photos to show you (of the bags and the work area). I will not bore/scare you with the "before" until I have the "after". And if it works out well, I will share her info with you so you can get your place organized too if you live around here.
